Ningbo Communications, which
combines the port, aviation, railway, highway and waterway in
one, has been developing and progressing in furthering the cause
of economic and social development in Ningbo. A modernized integrated
transport system centering on the port and the urban area has
thus been basically established
By sea: The Port of Ningbo is one of the four international
deepwater ports along China's coastline on which the State has
laid great emphasis to develop. Now it has 39 berths of over
10,000 tonnage and 107 regular container shipping lines. The
annual cargo throughput of the Port reaches 200 million tons
and the container throughput reaches 3 million TEU. It has formed
a container shipping net covering the whole world. |
By air: Ningbo Lishe Airport,
a busy 4D-level airport in China, has opened 40 air routes with
about 200 flight courses every week and the annual passenger
turnover of 1.7 million.
By rail: With Xiao-Yong Railway (Ningbo-Xiaoshan) Multiple
Track as its main trunk line, Ningbo Railway joins Zhe-Gan Railway
(Zhejiang-Jiangxi) and Hu-Hang Railway (Shanghai-Hangzhou) outside
and links Ningbo port area inside. With a total extension of
187 kilometers, the railway handles 18 pairs of passenger trains
and 26 pairs of freight ones. Yong-Tai-Wen (Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou)
High-speed Electrified Double-track Railway is under construction.
By road: The total length of highways in Ningbo is 5520
kilometers, and the average depth 59 kilometers per square kilometer.
Expressways of 184 kilometers have been paved, whose road class
and smooth level are among first rank in Yangtze River Delta.
Currently, key projects like Hangzhou Bay Bridge, Yong-Jing
(Ningbo-Jinghua) Highway and round city highways are being building.
By water: Phase I (300 tonnage) of Hang-Yong (Hangzhou-Ningbo)
Canal Ningbo section reconstruction project has been completed,
and Phase II (500 tonnage) of the reconstruction project is
under way. Ningbo has 1194-kilometer navigable inland waterways,
545 passenger-and-freight vessels of 1.21 million dead-weight
tons.
